I should proabably post a new photo.. the facial hair is gone these days.

Jake's music notes:

I can't wait for Alan Jackson live on 9-11 at the Glens Falls Civic Center. This may be the most pwerful night of country music I will witness. Imagine Alan Jackson singing "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" live for you on 9-11. There will not be a dry eye in the house. If you haven't already, get your tickets now at the GFCC Box Office, ticketmaster.com, or phone charge at (518) 476-1000.

WGNA is playing the NEXT BIG LADY in Country Music. Her name is Sunny Sweeney, and the song is "From A Table  Away". All I can say is WOW!!

WGNA is bringing Broken Bow Records recording Artist James Wesley on Sptember 9th for our Coors Light NFL Kickoff 2-K-10 party at the Sports Grille in East Greenbush. I will be doing my afternoon show live at the Sports Grille from 3-7pm. We will have great Coors Light specials all day and night long. James Wesley takes the stage at 7pm for a 1/2 hour acoustic performance including his hit single "Real"! at 8pm we kick off the first regular season game as the Saints battle the Packers with COuntry 107.7, WGNA-FM!

I may be the biggest Jamey Johnson fan in America. WGNA was the first Radio station in America to play "In Color" and we led the pack on "The High Cost of Living" too. Jamey is getting ready to release a 25 track double CD on Mercury records titled "The Guitar Song". I am one of 4 people in America to get an advance copy of this project and all I have to say.. WOW!!! Country 107.7 WGNA-FM is playing the first single off this CD "Playin' the Part". When the album is released to the public for sale in-store and online I will be posting a review of it on this page.

ALBUM REVIEW  (Arista) Jerrod Niemann "Judge Jerrod and The Hung Jury"

There are 20 tracks on this debut effort from the man who sings the hit "Lover, Lover" on WGNA-FM. It is like a frat party on a CD. This guy is a traditionalist when it comes to his music. He has some very funny production pieces with an "announcer" on the CD between tracks that made me laugh out loud a few times. Being a long time fan of the Texas music scene which is it's own world I was tickled pink to hear him do a tongue in cheek remake of Robert Earl Keene's "The Bucking Song". I would not let the kids listen to this one mom and dad. No real bad language in this track, but the innuendo is pretty strong. The hit track "Lover, Lover" just makes you feel great. Even though it deals with a relationship that is heading downhill quicker than the stock market, you come away feeling good. They should play this one in counseling sessions, it would save people a lot of money. Bakersfield was my favorite track on the entire album, a real traditional love song about a girl Jerrod met in Buck Owens' hometown of Bakersfield, California. There were some great party tracks that sounded like the best of Kenny Chesney, mixed with Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. Even though this CD ran close to an hour, it was such a great listen it seemed to go by a lot faster. I just hit replay and listened to it again. He topped the CD sales chart last week, knocking Lady A out of #1 so I think a lot of people heard the same thing I did. On the Jake Thomas "6- pack scale" I will give this one 5, and call a cab!!

Feel free to email me with you music questions, inquiries and whatever is on your mind. I always get back to you. It's easy to remember jake@wgna.com
